The Drive-In

We ended our spring break with a trip to the drive-in. It was a little bit squished, a little bit messy, and a lot of fun! In tradition of watching stuff in your car (we used to watch the fireworks every year on the Fourth of July at this big field in our car) I made caramel corn and we got slushies. I'm not sure either of those food choices was the wisest because part of the carpet is now red. : (

Our car has these super cool folding seats that can be arranged in different ways including a tailgate seating. We started the night out that way and then put them down about half way through the night.Like Emma's super red slushie lips?

By the end, the girls were asleep, but they still had a lot of fun!Man, I love Mike's dimples!!

Some Random Stuff

Things must be getting a little better around here because I have had some time to do some sewing/crafting over the last couple of weeks.

I had so, so, so much fun crafting with some friends the other night. We stayed up way too late, but I finally got this project done that I have been planning to do forever. It's a tooth fairy pillow. The mouth is a little pocket that you can put your tooth in and then hang it on your door. I was really happy with the way that it turned out. Plus, I had so much fun making it because I was surrounded with friends. I got the pattern here through another blog (Not So Idle Hands) that I love, but she has stopped blogging for a while because of health problems.

I also made an awesome (if I do say so myself) puppet show theater for my preschool kids. I don't have a picture of it on this computer, but you should check it out by clicking here. It was easier than I thought it would be. It was seriously so much fun to watch the kids do the puppet shows. They were adorable.

In other news that is actually related to the family. . .

We have a little lizard rolling around our house. Kaitlin has started sticking out her pointy little tongue and it's awfully cute.
Kaitlin has started eating rice cereal and she loves it. We have nicknamed her the Beast when she eats because it reminds me of that scene from Beauty and the Beast when the Beast is trying to eat porridge with a spoon.
Quote of the day by Mike, "I love that my wife sings along to Linkin Park." (I bet you never knew.)

Happy Saint Patrick's Day

Emma set a trap last night to catch a leprechaun. She built a little climbing wall up the side of the canister. She cut a hole in the top of the canister and we covered it with "clouds" so that when the leprechaun jumped up to get the gold bell he would fall in.
When we woke up this morning, the leprechaun had visited, but he wasn't too happy about the trap so he trashed our living room.
After we picked up some of the mess, we had a green breakfast with green milk, green eggs, shamrock toast, and (of course) lucky charms.

We're Under Construction!

We're under construction at the Chipman household. But, you will just have to wait for the great reveal to see what we are doing.

In other news, we are enjoying a nice, relaxing spring break. Mostly, just chillin' like villains.

(Yes, Kaitlin is smiling in this picture.)

The Mighty Mini

Emma had her first gymnastics meet last Saturday. I think I have mentioned before that her coach calls her "Mighty Mini." What I didn't realize is that all the other girls call her that too. Some just shorten it to "Mini," but I thought it was kind of cute. I wonder if any of them know what her real name is. Anyway, all the kids competed in 4 events: vault, floor,
beam,

and bars.

Emma had a great time and we were so proud of her for getting second place for the beam.

I shows what a small town we live in that they had to pause the award ceremony so the train could go by. (Which one of these is not like the others . . . Anyone else notice that Emma is the only one standing up in the group. : )

After wards, she had fun goofing around on the mats and doing flips and other things for me. She is still our little monkey. It's a shame that girls don't compete on the rings because with all of her upper body strength, I think she could do really well.

You can't really see it here because her arms are so short, but her body is completely off the bar in this picture.

Great job Emma!
