Summer Fun in California

On our way back from our West family reunion, we stopped at Grandma and Grandpa Chipman's house and spent a week there. It was so much fun. The girls got to spent a lot of time with James, Melanie, Grandma, and Grandpa. We played a lot of games, ate some amazing food (of course), and swam. Grandpa was evil and supplied us with a lot of yummy candy and ice cream. I am sure I will be trying to work it all off for a while now. ; )

We got to see Brian on Father's Day and the girls had fun wrestling with him as usual.

While we were there, Kaitlin cut her first teeth (two)! She decided that her stroller handle would be a good tool to encourage their growth.

We spent a day at the beach and at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. The boardwalk part will be a seperate post because there are so many fun things to remember.

Anya was adorable, when she first saw the ocean and stepped onto the sand she said, "Ahhhh, so cool!"

It was so interesting to me to watch the vast differences in my girls being displayed by how they responded to the ocean. Anya didn't want to go very near it and cried when the water got close. She wanted to be held and it took her a long time to warm up to it and to eventually let Mike put her down. Even then, she only barely got her feet wet.

Emma on the other hand was visibly shaking from excitement. She ran straight into the water and didn't leave it until we went back up to the beach to get ready to change for the rides. She had a huge happy grin on her face the whole time and she was ecstatic the whole time.

Further proof that Emma's feet really never touch the ground.

Kaitlin loved running away from the waves with me. She had some cute smiles and laughs.
