Emmaisms

Here is a conversation we had during dinner today. Emma got up from the table before being excused and here is what was said:

Mom: Emma come back to the table and have 4 more bites.

Emma: Nope

Mom: Emma, don't say no to me, you need to come and obey.

Emma: I need to come and go play.

Mom: (Has to turn away and laugh at her quick witted 5 year old.)

Emma: (Runs away to play.)

1 point Emma. 0 points mom.

Although, in my defense she did come back eventually and have her bites.

Emmaisms

We had quite a fun day with Emma today. Mike and I have always said that if she ever decided to put her mind to something, she would be great at what ever it was. Well, she finally decided that she wanted to do something and she did it. She wanted to learn how to ride her bike with no training wheels, and she did this afternoon. (Mostly) We couldn't help her (She didn't want any) and after riding her bike around the block once, she was doing really well. We are proud of her for being so diligent and for persevering.

She was making us laugh this afternoon. Mike looked into the living room and saw Emma with her hand on Anya's head tipping her back and then pulling her up.

Mike: Emma cut it out!
Emma: But I'm just pretending that she's getting baptized.

How do you scold for something like that? At least she must be listening in primary.

Speaking of primary, we think that her teachers were type casting for a skit they did in class. They were reenacting Nephi getting the golden plates from Laban. The sweet, quiet girl was playing Nephi. Emma and her best friend Jo were supposed to be Laman and Lemuel. Go figure!

April Continued. . .

Easter was interesting this year. Emma was sick, but she really wanted to do the Easter egg hunt so what mom would say no? She had a lot of fun Here are all the pictures. Forgive me for not adding captions, but I am sure you can figure it out. You are a very smart person.

April

I know it's the middle of May, but I am finally catching up on all the stuff that has been going on in our lives. For those of you who haven't heard, we got a job in Arizona and will be moving down there this summer. Mike graduated!!! And we are on our way. We are very grateful to have a job during these hard times. We are also grateful to Mike's parents and my mom and Larry for all their support and love. We had quite the house full for a couple of days. At one point everyone in the picture except one person was staying in our two bedroom place. Sadly this was the best group shot we got. No one was very picture happy so the ones I got were not very good. Mike didn't care and since it was his day, I didn't push the issue.

Here's my handsome graduate. I am so proud of him!

It was a very long commencement and Uncle Scotty was a huge help at keeping the girls happy. Thanks Scott! One of the fun parts was that we sat really close to where Mike walked in and where he sat during the commencement. This is Emma yelling to him.

I don't know what kind of face Anya is making, but I thought it was pretty funny.

Well mom and dad, your son finally made it!

Happy Mother's Day

There's nothing like breakfast in bed and a family snuggle fest afterward. I hope all of you moms have a great and relaxing Mother's Day. Even though I know a bunch of you have seen it before, here's a little tribute to all you moms out there.
