Emma worked really hard on her science fair project. She and Mike spent some time researching things that she might want to learn about. She has a lot of interest in animals and we knew it would be challenging to do a project around animals since we weren't too interested in hatching chickens.
After some time researching, she decided she wanted to focus on endangered animals. She decided to test how scientists figure out how many endangered animals there are.
She counted out three groups of noodles and marked a certain number of noodles with a permanent marker. Then she pulled out handful of noodles and counted how many were marked and how many weren't. She kept doing that a bunch of times for each group. Then used some math to figure out average and a formula that she was testing to see if it figures out the correct number compared to what she actually counted.
She worked pretty hard and we were really proud of the work she did.
