Kaitlin's 4th Birthday

Our little Katydid is quite the cutie. She is becoming a very fast learner after starting preschool this year. She is already recognizing some of her letters. She has also started pretend playing with barbies and polly pockets. It is adorable to see her in her room playing quietly with her dolls. She loves to dance and has got some great moves. She also loves to sing. We have learned that everything has to be her idea. We can't tell her what to do, if we make demands, she immediately shuts down. But, if we try a different method, she is more happy to do what we want. She loves to help in the kitchen, washing dishes and helping make dinner. She makes the best faces when she is thinking or when she is being particularly precocious.

She requested a unique birthday this year. She said she wanted marshmallows and to give candy to her friends. So we did a little marshmallow themed birthday.

The kids built stuff with marshmallows and toothpicks.

We played chubby bunny (which is a bad idea with 4 year olds, for future reference.)

We played with the parachute.

Each of the kids got to take home a marshmallow shooter, mini marshmallows, and a chocolate and sprinkled covered large marshmallow.

She also dictated what she wanted for her "cake." She told me I had to do cupcakes with butterflies on them.

Her Grandparents hit it big with the gifts this year. She was most excited about her $4 from the Chipman and the giant slinky from the Poffs.
