Kaitlin-isms

I can't even think of something to say because I am laughing too hard.

It Begins. . .

Here's a conversation Emma and I had on the way home from school today:

Emma: Mom, I met a boy at recess today . . .
Me:(Thinking - Uhoh)
Emma: . . . and his name is Chance.
Me: Okay.
Emma: He said he loves me.
Me: Eww, gross. (Pause) Did you think that was gross or did you like it?
Emma: . . . I liked it.

And so it begins. : P

Happy Mother's Day!

Motherhood is watching a sleeping child and not remembering how you were before this tiny miracle came into your life.
It's kissing away sleepy teardrops and singing precious lullabies.
It's being able to fix a broken toy and gently bandage a knee.
It's having a childlike imagination that plans backyard treasure hunts, and telling the most wonderful bedtime stories.
Motherhood is the perfect blend of being strong-willed and gentle-hearted, of wisdom, innocence, and love.
Motherhood is the most important job of all-
and you do it all so well.

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Easter!

Easter was nice this year. We did the norm: egg hunt, baskets, ham dinner with the Kings. It was nice! We did have a lot less eggs this year for our egg hunt. Between Anya dropping them when we were doing the egg dying and the Easter bunny not putting the dog in while the eggs were being hidden our supplies were significantly dwindled. : )

Mike had a hard time getting a picture of Emma's egg hunt because he said she was going too fast. Emma fast? Yep, that sounds right.
We made these masks in preschool and of course Emma wanted to make one too.

Kaitlin-isms

The girls and I were piled on Emma's bed last night listening to Mike's mom read bedtime stories. Kaitlin was laying on my stomach and Anya was laying next to us. All of a sudden, Kaitlin got really fixated on Anya's face and she crawled over to her. She reached up and took the binky out of Anya's mouth and then tried to put it in her own mouth!

We all had a good laugh. What made it especially cute was that she is just so innocent. She wasn't trying to be mean to Anya, she just saw a binky and wanted to suck on it.

And yes, you heard me right, Kaitlin crawled over to Anya. She started doing that this week, the little wiggle worm!
