When Emma was a baby, she spent a lot of time up on BYU campus. Mike and I tried to arrange our class schedules so that we didn't have classes at the same time as much a possible. Our day went something like this: one of us gets ready and heads to class, the other one gets them self and Emma ready then pushes the stroller up to campus - snow or shine, (we were so, so, so grateful for people who shoveled their sidewalks), and then meet at a predetermined place to pass Emma off. We would purposely meet in buildings that had a mother's lounge (an extra space in the women's bathroom with a couch for nursing mothers) so that Laura could feed Emma. The other person would go to class, and the day would progress similarly with passing off back and forth. Needless to say, we found lots of great places to hang out on campus with a kid. One of Emma's favorite places was the BYU duck pond. (Another favorite was the "Tree of Life" sculpture near the David O McKay building.)
Since moving back, we thought it would be fun to relive old days and visit BYU. We stopped at the preschool so Emma could see her old teacher and I could catch up with the teachers I did my student teaching with. We showed them the cool moving stacks in the basement of the library. We got some creamery chocolate milk and we took the kids down to the duck pond.
The pond has changed quite a bit. They added a boardwalk around the edge and have added more benches. Plus, there are a lot more turtles than there used to be. It was a fun time to visit because there were some really cute ducklings there with their moms. They were adorable.
Kaitlin and Brandon were most excited about the mutant sized dandelion that they found near the pond. The thing was seriously huge.
Of course Emma found a tree to climb.
