We had such a special experience watching the opening ceremonies of the Sochi, Russia Olympics. When I was younger, I got to spend 4 special months teaching English to children in Russia. It was extra fun to watch because Russia holds a special place in my heart.
As we were watching the parade of nations, the girls got really excited about identifying each country's flag. We pulled out our children's atlas and it was a race to find the flag's country before the next one showed up.
Of course, there was the most excitement when America came out. The girls stood up and said the pledge as the flag was being paraded. I won't lie, this video brings tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to live in such a wonderful country.
